Your package includes a coach from Antalya Airport to the hotel, so why would you pay for anything else? Often you wouldn't. But on some routes and with some flights, the shared coach turns a short drive into a long evening. This guide explains how the coach works, how long the direct drive takes for comparison, and how to switch if you decide to.
How package holiday coach transfers work at Antalya Airport
After passport control and baggage reclaim, you walk out into the arrivals hall. Your holiday company's representatives or desks are there, and your travel documents tell you where to report. You are then shown to a coach in the car park.
The coach is shared. It carries guests from your flight, and sometimes from other flights, to several hotels along the same stretch of coast. That is what keeps it included in the price, and it is also why it takes longer than driving straight to your hotel:
- Waiting at the airport: the coach leaves when the guests booked on it are aboard, so a slow passport queue or a missing suitcase for one family keeps everyone waiting.
- Hotel stops: the coach drops guests at each hotel in turn. If your hotel is the last on the list, you see all the others first.
- The route: the further along the coast you stay, the more hotels there can be before yours. Alanya, Konaklı and Okurcalar are at the far end of the most common routes.
How many stops your coach makes depends on the route, the day and how many guests are booked. Nobody can promise you a number, including us.
How long the coach takes vs a direct transfer
We can't tell you exactly how long your coach will take. We can tell you how long the direct drive takes, so you know the minimum. The coach needs this time plus the waiting and the hotel stops.

Booking a private transfer when your package includes one
Yes, you can book your own transfer even if one is included. A few things make it go smoothly:
- 1Tell your holiday company or rep that you are making your own way to the hotel, so they don't wait for you or look for you at the coach. Your documents or the holiday company's app say how to contact them.
- 2Ask about the unused transfer. Whether you get anything back is up to your holiday company and your booking conditions. Don't assume either way.
- 3Decide about the return. The arrival and the return are separate. You can take the coach back and book only the arrival privately, or the other way round, or both. If you change the return, tell your rep too, so the coach doesn't wait at your hotel.
- 4Book with your flight number. We track the flight, so an early or late landing is fine.
Who it is worth it for
The coach is good value when your hotel is close, you land in the daytime and you are not in a hurry. A private transfer can be the more sensible choice when:
- You have small children. No waiting for other passengers, no stops at other hotels, and a child seat can be booked in advance for an extra charge.
- Your flight lands late. After a late landing, going straight to the hotel matters more than at midday.
- You are staying far along the coast. For Alanya, Konaklı or Okurcalar, the direct drive alone is 1½ to 2 hours.
- You are a group of up to 6. The price is per car, not per person: one Mercedes-Benz Vito takes up to 6 passengers and 5 suitcases.
FAQ
My transfer is included. Can I still book a private one?
Yes. Book it like any transfer and let your holiday company or rep know you won't be on the coach.
Do I need to tell my rep or holiday company?
Yes, it is the polite and practical thing to do, so nobody waits for you at the airport or at your hotel on the way back.
Will I get a refund for the coach transfer I don't use?
That depends on your holiday company and your booking. Ask them before you travel.
How many stops does the coach make?
It varies with the route, the day and the number of guests. The further from the airport your hotel is, the more stops there can be.
What if my flight lands late?
We track your flight, so the driver is there when you land, early or late. If you land after midnight, book the transfer for the date you land, not the date you take off.
Can I book only the return?
Yes. Arrival and return can be booked separately.
Where do I meet the driver?
In the arrivals hall. If you want, you can add a name sign as an option when booking.
Is there a Havaş bus or a shared shuttle?
Havaş runs buses from the airport into Antalya city; they don't take you to your hotel door. Check Havaş for current routes and fares. Shared shuttles from other companies also exist and combine several passengers. We only run private transfers: the car is yours. See our Antalya airport transfer page for all resorts.
